Protecting your pet for life

Vaccinations are one of the simplest and most effective ways to keep your pet healthy. They protect against contagious and potentially fatal diseases, and help protect other pets in our community too.

Every vaccination at The Narre Warren Vet includes a full health check with one of our veterinarians. We examine your pet from nose to tail, check their weight, teeth, heart and skin, and talk with you about anything that is worrying you.

Dogs

C3 protects against parvovirus, distemper and hepatitis
C5 adds protection against canine cough (parainfluenza and Bordetella)
Puppies need a course of vaccinations, followed by annual boosters

Cats

F3 protects against feline enteritis and cat flu
FIV vaccination is recommended for cats that spend time outdoors
Kittens need a course of vaccinations, followed by annual boosters

Rabbits also need regular vaccination against calicivirus. Ask our team about the right schedule for your rabbit.

Frequently asked questions

When should my puppy or kitten be vaccinated?

Puppies and kittens usually start their vaccinations at 6 to 8 weeks of age, with further vaccinations every 4 weeks until they are around 16 weeks old. Our vets will create a schedule that suits your pet.

Does my adult pet really need a booster every year?

Annual boosters keep immunity strong, and the yearly health check that comes with them helps us pick up health problems early. Some vaccine components are given every three years, and we will tailor the plan to your pet.

Are vaccinations included in the Health Care Plan?

Yes. Annual vaccinations are included in our Health Care Plan, along with unlimited routine consultations and many other benefits.
